Dennis is a member of the Association of Wood Turners of Great Britian, the Norfolk Contemporary Crafts Society and the Suffolk Craft Society.
He has cultivated his own very individual style of creative woodworking, developing his work over the past twenty seven or so years.
Dennis draws his inspiration from his native Norfolk environment. He has developed a very distinctive utilisation of form, incorporating texture with carving and the application of colour, creating a range of fruit on platters, bowls, dishes and wall plates.
The main timbers used are sycamore, holly and maple, all of which are sourced locally to his home in Norfolk. These woods are chosen for their neutral colouring, especially sycamore which, when dry is almost white. This allows the application of a wide range of water-soluble dyes, to achieve the fantastic results Dennis has become well known for.
