Limited & Open Edition Giclee Prints and Original Watercolour Paintings
Eileen was born and educated in Northern ireland, obtaining an honours degree in Art & Design in 1973.
She was awarded a post graduate year by Norman Adams RA, enabling her to concentrate on watercolour painting.
Laterly, Eileen worked as Head of Art & Design in schools and colleges in Northamptonshire; she is now a full-time artist.
Eileen has worked with a variety of media over the years, but prefers to use watercolours because of the qualities achieved through 'wet in wet' techniques. This particular style of painting allows for the unpredictable - and in her words "magical" effects, that show this often difficult medium at its best.
Her subject matter ranges from figurative work in which she tries to achieve atmospheric, often ephemeral, effects; still life and flower paintings and most recently she has concentrated on the dramatic effects of light on skies, particularly sunsets.
Eileen is member of the Town & County Arts Society, Northamptonshire and of Network Arts, Northamptonshire.
Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally.
