Pam was introduced to glass in the late 1980's, whilst studying for a degree in craft at Alsager College, part of Manchester University.
Originally producing ceramic works, as well as experimenting with glass and papermaking, Pam became more and more interested in the potential of kiln fired glass, she has been producing kiln formed pieces ever since.
The work consists of layers of flat, clear glass with a variety of inserts between the layers. The range that we stock in the gallery has a variety of hand drawn designs on paper, producing a range of pieces with several general themes. The range contains wall/window hangings, coasters and paperweights, all individually created.
Carrie Anne Funnell - Unique Fused Glass
Carrie Anne has become one of our established artists here in the gallery, we have exhibited her unique glassware since we first opened in 2002.
We have a range of Carrie Anne's platters, dishes, coasters and both standing and hanging panels. A selection can be seen in the 'Contemporary Fused & Slumped Glass' section under the main 'Glassware' menu. We are unable to show the larger platters, hanging panels, & curved panels on the website as they are too large to be posted safely.
Carrie and her partner Sean were featured in the November/December 2007 edition of the Craftsman Craft & Design Magazine. The article gives an insight into the way they have built their business, and to Carrie's unique designs.
Carrie and Sean took 2009 out from production to travel around the southern hemisphere. We are looking forward to seeing how her work in 2010 is influenced by their travels.
