Sarah Clarke Contemporary Jewellery

  • Sarah Clarke - Contemporary Precious Metal Jewellery
  • Hand Crafted Contemporary Gold & Sterling Silver Jewellery.

Sarah’s accomplishment in the field of jewellery design, has come from nurturing her talents at De Montfort University in Leicester. She passed her Design Degree with flying colours and found a new outlet for her creative passions designing bespoke jewellery.

Sarah now works from her studio in Northamptonshire, one of her greatest strengths is in creating one-off designs for her customers, exploring their ideas and sometimes recycling old or broken jewellery into new wearable pieces. Over the past couple of years she has created a very individual set of designs, with Angels being very much at the heart of the collection.

Sarah’s talent is now recognised and has achieved membership of the British Jewellers Association and is registered with Birmingham Assay office for all her hallmarking.

  • Chris Kampf Fun Metal Sculptures
  • Cartoon Style Metal & Wood Animal Sculptures

From his studio in Somerset, Chris has spent the past few years creating a range of individually handmade sculptures around a cartoon-style mouse he has named Rex.

Chris uses a mixture of reclaimed and recycled products along side new materials, to create each individual piece. Although he follows a theme for his sculptures, Chris makes sure that there are never two exactly the same.

To keep Rex company, Chris also creates pieces around a cat and a dog. We have chosen a selection of characters to have in the gallery. Fun is a very big part of these fabulous little sculptures.

Alison Reid - fine silver & copper jewellery

  • Alison Reid - Fine Silver & Copper Jewellery
  • All Alison's jewellery is designed and carefully handcrafted in her home studio and workshop in Edinburgh. She enjoys working with a variety of materials, predominantly sterling silver, semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls and beautiful lampwork beads.

Some of the pieces we are stocking are made with Silver Art Clay, which is a silver product made from reclaimed silver. It is manufactured in clay form with tiny particles of fine silver suspended in the clay. Once the item has been moulded and carved to the desired form it is fired, the clay burns away and the fine silver particles bind together to form .999% silver. It's a fantastic, versatile material to work with. We also have pieces that Alison has made in copper using the same art clay technique.

Each piece is individually hand crafted.

    Lynne Lane dichroic glass jewellery

  • Lynne Lane - Dichroic Glass Jewellery
  • Lynne first became interested in silver smithing about 12 years ago, attending courses at the local arts centre in Great Linford in Buckinghamshire. Over the years she has developed her ranges of jewellery and household objects.
Five years ago Lynne studied production techniques in kiln fired glass. Since then she has attended various workshops and courses, all the time gaining a little more of an insight into the properties and possibilities of glass.

Over the last two years, Lynne has specialised in using dichroic glass for her jewellery.

Dichroic glass is formed when very thin layers of quartz crystal and metal oxides are vaporised on to the surface of clear or black glass. This is done in a highly technical vacuum deposition process, which was originally developed for the space industry.
The characteristics of this glass are, that it has a transmitted colour (the colour you see through the glass if the coating is on clear glass), this is different from the reflected colour (the colour you see when light is bounced off the glass). These colours can shift depending on the angle at which it is viewed.
There are over 45 different coloured coatings available on both clear and black glass, including some patterned and some textured. By combining different finishes the end result produces a unique piece of work.

    Mary Standing enamelled copper jewellery

  • Mary Standing - Enamelled Copper Jewellery
  • Mary designs and makes a range of unique jewellery by enamelling onto copper. She produces a variety of designs featuring dancers, landscapes, abstracts and some with more whimsical themes.

We currently feature a range of pendants, earrings, brooches, bracelets and cufflinks in the gallery.

The designs use a mixture of high quality glass beads coloured shells and semi-precious stones, presented in a contemporary way.

    Claire Newberry original textile designs

  • Claire Newberry - Original Textile Designs
  • Claire graduated from the University of Central England in Birmingham in 1989, having gained the prestigious Royal Society of Arts' Young Designer into Industry Award.
Claire has worked for a number of years as a freelance knitwear designer, selling her work to top international designers across the fashion capitals of the world.

Claire started her career by designing scarves for friends and family. They proved to be very popular, and so decided to develop a limited edition, handmade collection.
All the scarves in her collections are made using the finest yarns available, including the softest extra fine merino from Italy and beautiful hand painted yarns from Wales.

When designing, Claire takes inspiration from a diverse range of sources; from the unpredictable world of animal markings to the rigid structures of manmade repeat forms. Sometimes, the yarn will play a role in dictating how the final piece should evolve and other times the finishing processes she uses push the designs in exciting and unpredictable directions.

We have a range of scarves in a selection of her latest colours in the gallery.

A re-useable bag for the 21st century for everybody. It can be used for shopping, going to the gym, going to school or college and even as a fun alternative to your briefcase.

The bags are available in a wide range of colours to suit all tastes.

You can see the range we have in stock in the Onya bag section under the main 'Gifts' menu.

In October 2006, it was highlighted as an alternative to plastic carrier bags during a discussion on BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine show.

We are now stocking all four bags from the Onya Bag range; a backpack which is called Onya Back, a satchel style bag called Onya Side, the original Onya Bag and the new for 2009 a large version of the original Onya bag. All bags and their storage pouches are made from recycled parachute material.
